Online abuse against women in politics

In 2024, I conducted a series of specialised workshops focused on social media safety practices, aimed at providing participants with effective tools and strategies for secure social media engagement while campaigning for local elections in Ireland.

I was motivated to offer these workshops pro bono, recognising the need to empower women with essential skills for navigating digital platforms. This initiative was rooted in my concerns about the persistent findings that women in politics encounter increased risks of online harassment.

Through these workshops, I transformed research on digital harassment into practical, actionable training that addressed the unique challenges that women in Ireland face in maintaining their public presence online.

This initiative is ongoing, so please feel free to reach out for more information
